How to easily block malware in your home computer without using antivirus Mac, Windows, Android & iOS

Although antimalware software is one of the main tools for the protection of a computer system, there are other solutions available for those users who do not have a good antivirus. One of these options is the popular domain name system services.

Cloudflare has just released the latest version of its free Domain Name System (DNS) service. Known as Cloudflare 1.1.1.1, this tool is ideal for blocking malware and adult content in a familiar environment, adding an additional layer of security to your systems. It should be remembered that DNS works similarly to old phone directories, in other words, this is how the Internet browser (among other applications) accesses the name of a website without using the IP address related to a web domain.

This new version of the tool is based on cross-references to the domain it is trying to access, contrasting it with a list of adult and potentially malicious sites. Cloudflare’s DNS service works differently from the traditional site-blocking software, which depends on the interception of specific files or content.

SET CLOUDFLARE 1.1.1.1

For Windows

  • Search for “Control Panel”
  • Click “Network and Internet”
  • Then go to “Network and Sharing Center”
  • Click “Change Adapter Settings”
  • And on your WIFI connection, “Properties”

IPv4 and IPv6 must be activated, so you have to use these digits.

For IPv4, in the DNS server address, use

  • 1.1.1.3
  • And then use this code
  • 1.0.0.3
  • “OK”

In IPv6, it’s almost the same method

Let’s use this code for the first line

  • 2606: 4700: 4700:: 1113
  • And then this
  • 2606: 4700: 4700:: 1003
  • Click Ok and you’re done

For Mac

These codes are the same, in the WIFI settings, so you should test them

For IPv4, in the DNS server address, use

  • 1.1.1.3
  • And then use this code
  • 1.0.0.3
  • “OK”

In IPv6, it’s almost the same method

Let’s use this code for the first line

  • 2606: 4700: 4700:: 1113
  • And then this
  • 2606: 4700: 4700:: 1003
  • Click Ok and you’re done

Now any malware page and adult content has been blocked, you can check it below.

For smartphone (the process is somewhat different)

  • Go to Network and Internet Settings, then Advanced and Private DNS
  • If your phone does not have these options, you must install an app that allows you to enter your DNS settings. In an example carried out with a Xiaomi device, the QuickShortMarker app is used, which allows you to enter the DNS configuration.
  • Search activities in the MORE section and select this one called “com.android.settings.Settings $ NetworkDashboardActivity”
  • Under “1dot1dot1ot1.cloudflare-dns.com”
  • Then visit 1.1.1.1/help. This to verify that the DNS address is correct

This is how the settings are completed for more security and blocking of malicious content.
