Critical vulnerability makes it easy to hack unpatched Netgear Wireless AC Nighthawk, Wireless AX, Nighthawk routers

Numerous Netgear WiFi router models were susceptible to a high-severity vulnerability that had been patched by Netgear. Multiple variants of the Wireless AC Nighthawk, Wireless AX Nighthawk (WiFi 6), and Wireless AC routers are vulnerable as a result of the issue.

If arbitrary code execution is gained while attempting the attack, the effects of a successful buffer overflow exploit may vary from system failures caused by denial of service to the execution of any code that the attacker chooses.  This vulnerability may be exploited by attackers in low-complexity attacks without the need for permissions or the involvement of the user.

Netgear said that it highly recommended that you update the current firmware as soon as possible.
